Botany Department Activities

A mega job drive programme with placement assistance in collaboration with Expression India Society along with Technopark for graduate and post graduate students on 21/12/2018.

A job orientation with placement assistance programme for life science students was jointly organised by Department of Botany and NimsHargobind Khorana Biotechnology finishing school, Nims medicity, Trivandrum on 01/12/2018.

Department annually conducted institutional visits for PG programmes to Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanical garden and Research Institute, Palode, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, Central tuber Crop research Institute, Sreekariam,Central plantation Crop research Institute, Kayamakulam and Cashew Export and promotion council of India, Kollam.

Department annually conducted field study tour programmes for UG & PG programmes to ecologically important areas of Western Ghats regions of Kerala, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu states.

The department maintained a book bank which provides text books for poor students. In every year, the faculties of the department organise training programme for students to familiarise the different horticulture techniques The medicinal plants raised by tissue culture technique are supplied to household as a part of initiative to [...]
