SNC Share and Care: an initiative by the faculties of Sree Narayana College, Kollam, to help economically poor students with the target of providing lunch, books, study materials, medical aid, etc. Providing wholesome and nutritious meals to the economically deprived students, promotes education, health, lessen inequalities and end hunger. It also helps in developing the confidence of the students. In addition to these activities, it is decided to help teaching and non-teaching staffs in some emergency situations. This programme started functioning as a joint initiative of the teaching and the non-teaching staffs in association with the alumni.  The programme started twenty years ago, is still continuing successfully and will continue in the coming years.

EDAM: Student Palliative Care Initiative: A collective initiative in collaboration with National service Scheme, Kollam District Palliative Care, teaching and non-teaching faculties, students and parents of Sree Narayana College, Kollam, aims at improving the quality of life of needy patients and their families facing issues related to life threatening illness by employing “active total care”. It provides relief from pain and other distressing symptoms by integrating the social, psychological aspects of patient care. Formerly, Sree Narayana College, Palliative Care Unit (SNCPCU) started during the academic year 2017-18 aims at inculcating caring mentality among the students and the activities of the same are continued with vigour and vitality by the college staff in cooperation with the students, so that we could render patients and their loved ones expert clinical and moral support.
